This mobile App for zoo visitors takes advantage of the
AVAI Mobile App Platform in order to ensure that it is always updated with the latest news, schedule, animal information, and more! And even when they're not at the Dallas Zoo, they'll be able to learn about animal conservation through the application, watch new ZooTube videos, and much more.
On the “Home” page you will find the information you need to plan a trip to the Dallas Zoo. Other Zoo ideas include the ability to determine Hours, Admission, Parking, Directions and Contact Us can be found in this section.
Next is the Today section. This is a list of events and activities taking place around the Dallas Zoo, which are updated daily. It provides descriptions of the events and activities, as well as a “Map” button to help guide visitors to the location of an event or activity. If visitors choose to be more selective, they can simply select the events they wish to attend and choose "My Schedule". Now, they will see only those events or activities that are important to them.
The interactive maps guides visitors on a journey

through ZooNorth, The Wilds of Africa, and our new African Savanna. Using GPS technology, they can view their current location in real-time. With the “Near Me” feature, the nearest facilities (restrooms, restaurants, etc.) are displayed that are closest to their location. The interactive maps guide visitors to any selected facility from their current location.
Even if they can’t talk directly to the animals, your visitors can learn all about them using the iPhone Application. Each animal has its own page, with a photo, animal name, conservation status and other interesting facts. Choose the "Animals" section to browse our animal collection. For example, if they want to know where the Meerkats live at the Dallas Zoo? They choose "Meerkats" and then click on the "Map" button in the top right corner. This provides directions to the "Meerkats" through our interactive maps.
To build support via donations and special event attendance, we have the “More” section. Where visitors can learn more about becoming a member of the Dallas Zoological Society,

upcoming Special Events, how to Support Your Zoo, and about the Educational opportunities available through the Dallas Zoo. We have also provided a “Social Networks” section where visitors can post directly to their Facebook or Twitter accounts to tell their friends what a fantastic time they're having on the visit. They can also view the ZooTube videos to learn the latest and greatest about the Zoo.
