I just wanted to send ya’ll a note thanking you for all the hard work you’ve put in on this app. I know there’s been a lot of back and forth to get this thing off the ground, but the final product shows.
We’ve been getting great reviews both internally and externally and even got the front spread of a section of the Houston Chronicle today with a nice big full color photo.

Working with AVAI has been, from the initial contact to end launch, a very smooth operation. Even when in the “thick” of development and implementation, I was impressed by the dedication that was demonstrated to build an app that worked well and met the needs of our company. What impressed me most was the communication standards set by Eric Mills and Bret Cowie; they seemed to never sleep, even returning late night messages almost instantaneously.I also appreciated their patience when dealing with my occasional lapses in technical knowledge, taking the time to explain the process and working through to completion whatever the issues were. And they also seemed genuinely concerned and interested to create a product that worked technically and was appealing to the end user. I never felt that there was a rush just to get the product out the door, but a collaboration to create something that worked for everyone.

The day our application launched generated a great deal of buzz in our market; I know that this app will have a very “real-world” appeal at our zoo and enhance not only our visitors’ experiences while navigating our grounds, but also help to instill knowledge about wildlife and conservation that is engaging and personalized.

Our experience with AVAI was wonderful. AVAI and our project manager, Eric Mills, were professional, hardworking, and creative.  AVAI and Eric were knowledgeable not just about programming, but about marketing, statistics, and design. Eric kept us on task, and his team was routinely early with their project deadlines.

Most of all, we really appreciated the personal attention and Eric’s willingness to talk with us and advise us whenever we wanted. AVAI was just as excited to launch our iPhone app as we were. Bret and Eric were way ahead of the curve in regards to issues and concerns that I not only had, but ones I had not even thought of yet.  They were upfront about budget and possible scope creep which allowed us to manage our own expectations and requirements effectively. The functional design and technical documents were top notch.We had previously engaged another consulting firm that did not seem to grasp the purpose of our app or even basic premise of our idea.  They were more focused on selling add-ons rather than executing the app design or execution.

Eric and Bret both shared graphical ideas and functionality recommendations that were unexpected and ultimately incorporated into our final design.  I cannot even begin to think how we would have come up with the exceptional recommendations on our own as we were not graphic experts or iPhone app experts.
